The Crowne Plaza hotel is located a few minutes’ walk from Utrecht central railway station.

Flights are available to Schipol, Eindhoven and Rotterdam.

Schipol to Utrecht: There are 6 trains per hour which take 30 – 35 minutes and costs €10,20

Eindhoven to Utrecht: you will need to take the airport bus to the bus station, and then walk to the train station. There are 6 trains per hour, with take 1 hour 22 minutes and costs €19,64

Rotterdam to Utrecht: you will need to take the airport bus to the bus station, and then walk to the train station. There are 2 trains per hour, with take 1 hour 15 minutes and costs €14,37

Should you choose to drive, parking is available at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, at an additional fee (minimum €90).

On Friday, 13 October 2023 there is an opportunity to visit the University of Applied Science Utrecht – Optometry and its new clinics. The tour guides will be Mirjam van Tilborg and Sigrid Mueller-Schotte, who both work at the University of Applied Science.

Those attending will meet at 14.00 in the Crowne Plaza Hotel lobby, from where you will be guided to the University by Sigrid for the visit that begins at 14.30.

Utrecht is one of the oldest cities of the Netherlands. The conference hotel is walking distance from the Oudegracht, the main canal that runs through Utrecht’s city centre. Historical records confirm that this canal is over 800 years old and may have been built upon a considerably older waterway. The ECOO dinner on Saturday night will be at the canal to enable delegates to enjoy Utrecht by night.
