ECOO works closely alongside the European Academy of Optometry and Optics (EAOO) which develops the scientific knowledge base and promotes lifelong learning for optometrists, opticians, vision scientists and all those involved in eye health care across Europe. ECOO holds its spring General Assembly meetings alongside the EAOO conference every year to leverage its synergies and offer a large platform for exchange of information and knowledge.
ECOO is a regional member of the World Council of Optometry (WCO), which organisation facilitates the development of optometry around the world and supports optometrists in promoting eye health and vision care as a human right through advocacy, education, policy development and humanitarian outreach.
