ECOO works closely alongside the European Academy of Optometry and Optics (EAOO) which develops the scientific knowledge base and promotes lifelong learning for optometrists, opticians, vision scientists and all those involved in eye health care across Europe. ECOO holds its spring General Assembly meetings alongside the EAOO conference every year to leverage its synergies and offer a large platform for exchange of information and knowledge.
ECOO is a regional member of the World Council of Optometry (WCO), which organisation facilitates the development of optometry around the world and supports optometrists in promoting eye health and vision care as a human right through advocacy, education, policy development and humanitarian outreach.
ECOO also regularly engages with a wide range of stakeholders on its priority areas and has partnership agreements with many of them on joint projects. A non-exhaustive list of our key stakeholders:
- The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness
- Global Coalition on Ageing
- The European Coalition on Vision
- Retina International
